A website or application can have every feature it needs and still leave people unsure what to do. Information may be hard to find, a form may ask too much at once, or an important action may be easy to miss.
I focus on the experience behind those moments. We’ll look at who uses the product, what they’re trying to accomplish, and where the current approach creates friction. From there, I can help shape an experience that feels clear and consistent across pages, devices, and workflows.
What makes a good experience.
A good experience makes the next step understandable. People should be able to tell where they are, what choices they have, and what happened after they took an action. The layout, language, feedback, and interactions all play a part.
It also accounts for the different ways people use a product. Someone on a phone may have less space and more distractions. Someone using a keyboard or assistive technology may move through it differently. I consider those needs alongside performance and the practical constraints of the project, so the design can work for real people in real situations.
How I can help.
If you’re starting something new, I can help organize the information, map important tasks, and explore how the interface should work before development begins. Wireframes and prototypes give us something concrete to discuss and refine.
If you already have a website or application, I can help identify where people may be getting stuck and improve the flow, layout, or interactions. I can also create visual assets—such as graphics, branding elements, or marketing materials—that support a consistent look beyond the interface.
My Approach
I start with the people and the task. We’ll talk about who will use the product, what they need to do, and what you want the experience to accomplish. If something already exists, we’ll look at it together and identify what should be kept, changed, or explored further.
Next, I work from broad structure toward detail. That might mean mapping a user flow, organizing content, sketching wireframes, or building a prototype we can click through. We’ll use those pieces to discuss options and catch confusing moments early.
Once the direction is clear, I refine the visual design and interaction details. I pay attention to consistency, accessibility, responsive behavior, and the small moments—like a helpful error message or a clear confirmation—that make the experience feel complete.
Deliverables
- Experience review
- Interactive prototype
- Interface design
- Visual assets
The right deliverables depend on what you’re building and what we need to learn. We’ll choose the tools that help us make clear decisions and give development a useful direction.
Some projects need help understanding an existing experience; others need a new one designed from the ground up. Each deliverable should answer a question or help us make a decision, with the level of detail matched to the project.
Experience review
Observations and prioritized recommendations tied to important user tasks.
We’ll look at the paths people take, the information they need, and the places where the interface may leave them uncertain. The recommendations give us a practical starting point for improvements.
Interactive prototype
A clickable model we can review together and use to gather feedback.
A prototype lets us move through an idea instead of only talking about it. We can find awkward steps, missing information, or assumptions worth checking while changes are still easy to make.
Interface design
Designs for key screens, including responsive layouts and relevant interaction states.
The design shows more than how a screen looks at first glance. We’ll consider what happens when someone takes an action, makes a mistake, or uses the interface on a different device.
Visual assets
Selected graphics, branding elements, or marketing assets as defined for the project.
These pieces can help your business communicate consistently wherever people encounter it. We’ll define the specific assets and where they’ll be used so each one has a clear purpose.
